Over the last decade, there is a growing trend toward designing and building with green products. In fact, several large design firms have received requests from many green-design their corporate clients.
According to the author Susan E. Haberle, companies like Starbucks, Nike, Guess and Donna Karan have completed design projects utilizing green products. Haberle article in the American Society of Interior Designers website states that international companies have set up bamboo as green products for their flooring. But big business is not only the driving force behind the green trend.
Every day, more and more retail consumers jump on the conservation bandwagon. They demanded homebuilding and repair products that are not only aesthetic, durable and secure, but also made of material that will not unbalance the ecosystem. So, as with a company that has been mentioned, bamboo flooring has become a green alternative to hardwood consumer.
In order for a product to qualify as green, he must have certain characteristics, and bamboo flooring qualifies with more than one. But definitely the most important characteristic is that the resources efficiently. Bamboo is a sustainable material - and quickly so. It replenishes itself up to twenty times faster than hardwood trees, repeatedly grown from the same plants to maturity in just 4 to 6 years.
